In my opinion, I feel that this article "Race & Gender Criticism" is unfair and kind of racist. In around the 1970's, art was being taken over by the white people and male-dominated. Women was often depicted as seductive sex objects rather than as complete and independent individuals. There were 3 women without color, no men of color, and one woman of color, out of seventy-one artists. Don't you think this is kind of racist? I do. If there was an art work of women in color they would group it to the side as feminist.
What do you think about this and why?

My 1st Art Experience
The 1st time I had an experience in art, that I can remember, was when I was kindergarden. I was about 6 years old, and we were making a Mother's Day gift for our parents. I decided to make my mother a card. The card had my hand prints in the inside of it saying that I love her and the hands prints are like memories. On the outside of the card was a picture of me and my mom. I was younger and so excited to give her the gift, but I did good and kept it a secret until Mother's Day. On Mother's Day I gave my mother the card and she was estatic. She didnt even know that I had made the card for her. It was unexpected. This is the 1st art experience that I remember.
